About Me

I feel like writing my life story is a book itself, so I'll just go over the big things.
I'm in my (gasp!) mid thirties, though no one believes it from looking at me. I work full time in an office for a tech company, with the ability to work remotely. I'm currently on leave, recovering from an accident where I sustained a brain injury.
I've struggled with mental illness since high school, first with depression, then later adding PTSD from a bad relationship and the murder of my mother in 2013. Between those events I was also diagnosed with a personality disorder after spending time in hospital following a suicide attempt.
But I'm resilient. Through therapy and mindfulness, I've managed to be successful in whatever I've done. I had a 10 year career in intellectual property law, worked all over the world as a photographer, and now am fulfilled working with an amazing company and making an impact in ways I didn't know possible.
I've been interested in living mobile and tiny since childhood, where I'd plan out my designs on graph paper over and over. As an adult, I've had two camper vans and a school bus, so I know what I'm in for!
The goal for right now is to build out a van that will be sustainable for life in Canada year-round, so I can both work locally, and travel as much as possible. My current van is a 1990 Dodge conversion. Most of it doesn't work, but it'll do!
I want to show that living with mental illness isn't a sentence to darkness and loneliness, but that following your dreams can be one of the best therapies out there.
