Weekend Park Trip and Campground

The last week was pretty uneventful. I'd been parked in family's driveway in my hometown, so I was plugged in pretty consistently. I worked from the van a bit, and some from the house.

Once my work week was done, I headed back up to Ottawa on Highway 7. I'd planned on going to Bon Echo park, but it seemed like I was driving forever already, and that stop would take me 60km off course. I stopped again at Silver Lakes for a break.

Dozer seemed to enjoy the trip.

I also visited a neat little pioneer village! Be sure to visit Lang Pioneer Village if you're ever passing through Keene, Ontario, check it out! I just love anything pioneer. I kinda want to be one.

Found my dream house!

On the trip I did a lot of soul searching. More on that in the next post.

Last night I spent at Sleepy Cedars Family Camping. It was too hot to be spending all day in/around the van. I'd picked up my puppy Dozer last week, and it was really unfair to him to be in the heat. So I coughed up $45 for the night to be able to hook into power to run the air conditioner.

The campground was pretty nice. The pool was closed for the season, unfortunately. The shower was $1 for 8 minutes, so I powered through just to get cooled off. I love camping, but this visit kind of cemented my view that I'm not a very social person with strangers. I'd seen others making friends, but I was really just happy to sit by the fire I made and make crafts. I'd put my metal/wire jewellery kit in the van to bring back to Ottawa, which was the perfect craft for camping as it needed no power.
